inspired by Anthro
Doesn't this look like a dream world? My favorite shot from the Anthro video campaign shot in India.

less affordable swimwear.
so just ignore the other days' post where i talked about affordable swimwear and step onto the dreamboat with me...
it is utterly overpriced. and utterly fabulous. funny how those two things usually coincide for anthropologie.

I heart..
monogram. Really, it's nearly an obsession. I bought an A for Alicia and my living room wall. I have a B in my kitchen window. I have A mugs and A tea cups. And now Anthropologie comes out with one more, heartbreaking-ly adorable mug...monogrammed.
if only they had monogram sheet sets, my life would be complete...

What's all the hype?
I was just wondering. Does anyone own a Mason Pearson brush? Is it worth the $? Does it live up to all the hype?

Anthropologie has recently jumped on the wagon and started selling them, so I got curious.

Weekend off
Let's say we throw out our to do lists...and lounge around all weekend
Grab your sweats, a good book, some tea---and hop right back into bed, for the weekend!! What do you think?

Out of my budget.
Of course it is. It's Anthropologie...who can readily afford items at this place? I admit I'll buy one or two pieces here and there...but a $1,000 quilt? No way!
Ok, I'll calm down. Fred Shand is who is profiled currently at Anthropologie for his amaaaaazing quilts and pillow creations.

How striking and unique is this bed quilt!? I would fold it at the end of my couch if it were me.
And what better pillow to go with it than the red bolt pillow? Two please, and thank you.

Measuring small
Napoleon Bonaparte was not a tall man, but made a big impact on history and continues to do so today. Madewell's new sassy shorts come in Napoleon Blue..a small tribute?

*inspiration board by me
These shorts inspired me to search for more of this new burst of color...and perhaps consider adding some to my closet!

Budget Styles
Dallacites...did you hear? H&M opened up the other day in Northpark mall by Dillards and La Madeline. I took a peak, and didn't make any purchases, but I am definitely glad it has arrived. It's a preview of the bigger store to open in 2011.
A few weeks ago I avoided Anthropologie and JCrew (I know---shocking right?!) and decided to dig through Forever 21. I just feel like, with the trendier things, spending big isn't the best decision.
Check out this snippet from the Dallas Morning News:

Times are tough. Budgets are being stretched thin. It's time to turn to the budget stores and hope that JCrew and Anthropologie take note and drop their prices..

The atypical.
I like the odd dishes and kitchenware that Anthropologie sells. I also like mugs and cups that are more rustic... As I spied the section on their site, I was picturing the perfect outfit to wear with it..
...waking up in the morning to a nice mug of coffee....

...in a relaxed striped tunic (perhaps with leggings, boots, and a shawl sweater?)...

...sitting down to dinner in this unique flatware...

...with candlelight, something warm, and this rich colored dress...

...sipping some tea (or a hot toddy?) in the evening...

...in this sweet little frock...

Anthro
Wouldn't it be great if you could write up an Anthro wish list (one a month? one per catalog? one any old time you feel like it?) and some little fairy would purchase those things for you...without tampering with your credit card? Someone please figure out a way to make that happen.
Alicia and I got the catalog in the mail yesterday. Some very bold prints and patterns...and some very classic staples. In particular, I held open the page with the booties at the bottom with a lemon so Al would be sure to see it.
How practical are these pants!? So cute!
I love the patterns and lines on this cardigan.

Full of Feathers
I absolutely love feathers. I love them on headbands, as earrings, adorning clothing...everything. Today's DailyCandy inspired this post with the last picture...the feather mobile. I'm determined to make one to avoid the large sticker price on it!
(1) From my shop, plush purple feather headband
(2) From Anthropologie, the Season's Fleetings Wreath (they also have trees!!)
(3) From JCrew, the plumage mini
Isn't it divine!?
