I heart Garance.

Garance Dore, love of Scott Schuman, and photo blogger extraordinaire, is simply adorable. She often does these cute drawings of her blog stories followed by a real life photo. She did the most adorable post about her cape:

The story is here. My favorite was the deep discussion on how one should carry a purse when there are no sleeves to the jacket..

Scott took this adorable picture of Garance (2nd from left) (notice her hot outfit) (notice purse being held in hand) with Anna dello Russo and company.

I was inclined to blog about her now because yesterday she posted the most gorgeous video of her view of the Chanel show. I would have given my right arm to be there (and I'm right handed). So many lovelies were there...Rachel Bilson (girl crush on her!), Kiera Knightly, Alexa Chung..and Karl's muse for the show, Inès de la Fressange. A little research on Inès...in the 80s she became the first model to sign an exclusive modelling contract with an haute couture fashion house, Chanel, and became Mr. Lagerfeld's muse.

Crushing on Couture

via Who What Wear...
via NYTimes...Add Image

In light of the current economy, Chanel has downplayed Couture and made it a little more wearable than traditional couture. Here is a video of the runway (note: Karl Lagerfeld wearing a lion head at the end..) PS special thanks to Uptown Girl for sharing the video with me :)

To romp or not to romp?

That is the question. I'm hesitant, to say the least. Corinne found a low cost option to test the trend.
But seriously, what is a romper?

I looked it up.

A romper suit is a one-piece garment worn by children and sometimes women. Somewhat similar to a coverall, it is loose fitting and usually has shorter legs that may be gathered at the end. Puffed pants are particularly associated with rompers. Rompers usually are meant as a combination of shorts and a shirt, though the term can include jumpers, one-piece bathing suits, and clubwear fashions to name a few.

To me it looks like an easy Saturday "throw on", but will my long torso make this uncomfortable? I can picture this with a long navy cardigan and gold gladiator sandals...or with a short sleeve tee underneath and Converse shoes. It's hard to try a trend when your wallet is at stake, but for $20, I'll attempt any fashion risk.

If Karl Lagerfeld likes them, should I? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think...

Play Ball! Chanel Style.

Wouldn't it be great if for a day you could be Diane Kruger (German actress/model) (she was in Troy and the National Treasure movies) (I don't particularly like Nicolas Cage but he gets all the good roles because of his uncle) and fritt about in St. Tropez joining Karl and company for a Chanel ball? (Bocce ball that is).

Garance has such a way with words. Read the story here.

Chanel: Recession Friendly

Tattoos are Spring's hottest accessories, speaks the article below. What better way to don Chanel in a recession infested environment than with their temporary tattoos, launching mid February for $55-75?
(click on the picture below to read the article clearly)

Would Coco approve? I have to say I'm VERY intrigued...

The Weekend Awaits.

I am sooooooooooooo ready for this weekend. How ready? Soooooo ready. I have oodles to do to get my headbands ready for listing, need to get my car washed (will it stay sunny??), need to catch up on sleep and time with friends. These are things I've fallen in LOVE with this week!!!
CB2's Keep Calm and Carry On Rug! I have a print in my bedroom I got a while back because I love the history behind this phrase. CB2 writes a blurb on it in the description.
For obvious reasons (ahem, obsession with dandelions), the dandelion dinnerware at CB2 continues to be stalked by moi.
Spotted on my friend Sara's tweet, the hidden wedge Eliotte boot.
Off of DailyCandy this week, this delicious raglan tee from T Los Angeles!

And just in time for Spring, Chanel's polish in softer shades. This might make me take a step away from the vamp polish I usually wear!
