Wrap it up

Last night, Alicia and I had champagne Thursday (on a Monday) and wrapped Christmas presents! I have never been so on the ball as I am this year. Probably due to the fact that my oldest sister always sends out an email about Christmas presents back in September...

Decided to pull out some materials from headband making and put them on the gifts as well!

Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday! I'm going to spend time with my family in town, including my 4 (+1 on the way) nephews, 2 sisters, 2 brothers in law (who can beat me up or tickle torture me easily), parents, and grandmother. For now, I leave you with this...

The Holiday Spirit

OK, admittedly I have taken quite a long time to get in the holiday spirit. Again, blaming it on endless shifts at JCrew with loads of Christmas music on repeat. I am working on it, though! Last night, baked scones for the first time with Corinne. And what else has helped put me in the festive spirit?

The Anthropologie holiday catalog. It's a small, square booklet of festivity and color. Who doesn't have a secret obsession!?

So, I thank you, Anthropologie, for helping put me in the holiday spirit. I have also limited my movie watching to holiday movies. (Bridget Jone's Diary, The Holiday, The Family Stone, White Christmas, Serendipity, and will be renting Four Christmases. We'll save Christmas Vacation for when I'm with my family) Maybe I'll try to listen to Christmas music on Pandora today...

Wrap it Up.

So, over the last few holidays and occasions, I was the shit-show-of-a-daughter/sister/friend and came with unwrapped gifts. I KNOW, it seems very unlike me, but it happens sometimes. I don't know what excuse to give, so I won't. I'd rush in for the family birthday celebration of ______ and scrounge around at my mom's for wrapping paper/tape/scissors/tag...sigh. I decided it was time to GROW UP and GET IT TOGETHER. I did some brainstorming on what I wanted (no Santas) and had some great success!

First I went to the Container Store and bought about 8 rolls...now, they do not have the best bang for your buck, but the paper is so lovely! I bought tags, some ribbons, paper, and this perfect box to stow it all in under my bed!

Few days later, I went to a magical place, Hobby Lobby. They don't have the best website, but they have great wrapping! I picked up a roll or two, and some extra ribbon, to add to my underbed box.

This year I want to have my gifts wrapped up and under the tree. I think I can definitely make it happen since I just have one more thing to buy!

I also came across this great idea for reusable wrapping...perhaps next year?? Chewingthecud...interesting name, fabulous ideas!

And how about a way to re-use architectural plans? How creative!
