Lighting Project

Along with cleaning my condo this weekend, I'd love to get this one little thing figured out. In the dining room (which, let's be honest, it's just a right arm extension off the den), there's an old iron chandelier. I sprayed it white, which helped, but have always felt the need to replace it. My family urged me to be content with it, but recently all spoke out that they've always hated it! (WHAT?! gasps in horror..). So...unfortunately I cannot find a picture of the current structure, but these are the ideas I have in mind.

My roommate's table sits center stage in the dining room, which is a large, almost square, dark wood tall table with four tall chairs around it. We have the following CB2 rug under the table (sorry for the small pic...it's all I could find!!!) And our table looks something like this (sans cushions...basically it's just tall)

I want something more on the modern side to hang over the table. The floor of my condo is a deep red brick. Here are some chandeliers I like...what do you think? Any other suggestions? This weekend I'll measure the area to fill and hope to make a decision...!!!

Big Goals for this weekend.

I have huge goals for this weekend. Tomorrow I have a half day and Alicia and I intend on cleaning every crevice of our condo. Let's call it a Fall cleaning. On top of that, I want to spend as MUCH time outside before this beautiful weather turns to chill. (ha, wait, I'm in Texas...I've got months left of sunshine!!)

Have any cleaning tips for us?? We'll probably blast some music or play movies while we're cleaning to keep it fun...Any movies we should grab before we start??

I know the place will be so refreshing once all of this is done..

Pleats?

I'm just checking....do we like pleats again?

I'd just like to know before I dive in. I have a pair of summer shorts w/ pleats..but rocking them at work is another story requiring a bit of consultation.

JCrew and The Romantics

JCrew collaborated with the upcoming (September 10) film The Romantics to publish their most attractive catalog yet. Josh Duhamel in a suit, Katie Holmes in sequins, and other fabulously beautiful and talented actors and actresses (to name a few: Anna Paquin, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, and Malin Akerman). I believe this is their most attractive and successful catalog yet...and you should be seeing it soon! I love getting the sneak peak from my roommate :)

Party Shorts

Put your party shorts on, we're goin' out.

I have a severe infatuation with these babies. I have seen and gawked at them in stores. There's a gorgeous satin ribbon tied around the waist to finish these bloomers off. A night on the town or tights and boots in the Winter...I think these need to make their way to my closet.

This Fall, JCrew is showing us that glitz and glitter are making a strong appearance. I'm into it...
