For starters...this dress used to be floor length and all dark green raw silk. My mom put a "short skirt" on the bottom so I could get more wear out of it through the summer!
1. Find a "staple" dress. I think it should be something other than black.
2. Find a "staple" evening shoe. I love bronze, and I love Seychelles, so there you go. I wear these babies all the time.
3. For the Safari theme, with the help of my uncle (shocker I know) and mom (thanks for the silk!) we twisted some knots and attached them to felt for backing. I added some awesome feathers and sewed it on the dress! Done!
4. For the second wedding of the season, I removed the Safari themed adornment and made a new one. Yellow zipper flower (similar to the zipper flower headbands I make on Etsy) with feathers in browns and yellows. My shoes were borrowed from my roommate....bright yellow peep toe patent! (She's asleep or I'd show you a picture).
and here's a pic of Maria, Anna, and me at Colleen's wedding! :) Love reuniting with the Zuniga gals. It's been such a long time since our days at college...
5. The next one? I'm thinking of bright colors like fuchsia and lavender for summer. I still have ... 7 weddings to go! :)
Did you do something similar with your wardrobe? I'd love to see it!!! Please share!!
