How Tuesday: How to Make a Statement

Do you ever feel "blah" in your clothes? It happens to the best of us, but have no fear. Today's "How To" is about turning your blah into bold, and turning some heads in the process.

(1) Try a bib necklace. Pair it with simple trousers and a solid top. Here's one I found on Etsy that is gorgeous, but you can go more ornate or more simple if you like!

(2) Try a headband! Obviously I was going to say that. It's a great way to cover up a bad hair day or add some fun into your look. I love this one I found online and am trying to figure out how to make it:

(3) Wear a funky cardigan. This is another predictable thing for me to say because I have an OBSESSION with cardis.

This one is from Urban Outfitters, one of my favorite places for cardigans. It's only $32 so it also won't break the bank!

I know I only have three steps in this how to, but I think those are literally the three steps I follow on a daily basis....hope this helps!

Friday: Finally!

This week I am loving the trends for Spring/Summer...neon! My sis Virginia and I were immediately attracted to a bright yellow sweater in Gap (on sale $9.99, D'Arcy said he would go blind if we got it) and I wore a neon green cardi from Madewell (roommates!) yesterday... Have you gotten into it?

How Tuesday: How to Make Your Outfit Flow

I had a comment from Dipti on a past post about struggling to make an outfit "flow" without matching your purse, belt, and shoes. I thought I'd post on this before getting back to color. My grandmother and even my mother were ones to talk about matching your shoes, bag, and belt. Gone are those days! There are so many new options out there to make your outfit flow without the dreaded "matchy-matchy" look.

1. Ditch the matching belt. Go for one of three things:

-grosgrain ribbon belt (doesn't have to be skulls but I think this Rugby one is so cute!)

-studded belt
-metallic belt2. Keep the belt and ditch the matching shoes. Go for one of three things:

-metallic sandals

-croco shoes of any kind

-fabric floral/patterned shoes

3. Keep the shoes OR belt and ditch the matching purse. Go for one of three things:

-floral printed bag

-canvas bag

-straw tote
