General Apologies.

My apologies for lack of blogging! I have been out of town for work for a couple weeks. I have been brainstorming about different things I can do to make this interesting again...Has anyone looked at Snippet & Ink before? What I love about it most are the frequent Boards of themes/colors. I was thinking of using similar tools regarding fashion finds and trends that catch my eye...what do you think?


And don't worry. I'm not going to blog about Michael Jackson. While I think his talent will be missed in the world, I know everyone is getting an overdose in the media, and I don't think I need to mention him here.

Show Stoppers.

When I was at Shoeffle with Corina in NOLA, we gawked at these shoes. They did not come in my size so I had to order them online! They are SO comfortable and SO cute. In the store they were nearly $100 but online at overstock.com they were half the price! The flower is made of grosgrain and the heel is also similarly wrapped. Allover taupe satin.

I will look over my budget and seriously consider purchasing the wellies I posted about yesterday...thank you for your opinions!!! :D Happy Friday!!!!

Justified Purchase?

So all night long the storms woke me up because lightning would light up my entire bedroom...

Regardless, I eventually got out of bed and got dressed for work. I drove my small SUV through the storm and this is what I saw when approaching downtown...



Does this weather justify these? Probably not but I sure love Hunter Wellies....


Sigh...I guess I'll hold off on purchasing...

Alright, who here is sick and tired of being in pain throughout the evening while wearing your "evening shoes"?! I can't stand it!! While you look fabulous standing still, everyone can't help but notice (especially if you blurt it out..) that you are in pain. Solution? Evening wedges! I will put them to the test during my summer weddings.

Again, photo taken on my new Ikea bathroom rug. What I love about wedges is their ability to lift you up while not bringing you down...lol.

Lift me up, wedges.

Yes, by now I have purchased new shoes. After the big purge I even had empty space on my shelves! I went to DSW last week (typicaland spent $0. I'm serious. I went through the aisles and a few shoes caught my attention but I thought back to my challenge, and to those shoes that did not make the cut, and it made me re-think my shoe buying habits. In my head, I thought "would these be voted off?" and ended up walking out empty-handed.

About a week ago I visited Corina in N'Awlins and visited a cute boutique called Shoeffle in Covington, LA where I've been known to purchased a pair or two. I settled on two pairs in the store, one dressier wedge for Shellie's upcoming nuptials, and one summer wedge that will go with just about anything.
Here are the summer wedges:

The wedge is a little glossy, and I think made of cork, which makes them uber light and airy. The shoe is made of a shiny linen, studded to the wedge. I took the picture atop my new rug from my Ikea outting yesterday. It lives in my vanity/sink area between my closet and bathroom.

What do you think of the shoes? Has my challenge worked to only choose worthy shoes for my closet?

Donation Station

Success!!! I took all my shoes (and quite a few bags of clothes to get rid of...I got on a roll and couldn't stop!!!) to my local Buffalo Exchange last weekend and collected a little cashola in the process, but mainly donated to the battered women's shelter. I tried to sneak a picture of the donation bin to show you all the shoes departing, but I wasn't fast enough.

All in all, this was such a great thing for me! I purged and now I make better shoe purchasing decisions! No pair will be bought on a whim!

Fore!!!

Over the weekend I went to my friend Luli's house.  They live off of the golf course so we watched as golfers and fans walked by for the Byron Nelson.  One hand for your margarita and one for your taco, and all eyes on the green.  Rain lasted for less than half an hour, which didn't seem to stop the fans and players.  We walked along the green and watched a few players putting before heading back to stock up on snacks :)

What does this have to do with fashion or footwear?  Well we saw a variety of outfits and shoes donned that day.  Most of us wore metallic sandals and dresses or shorts, others wore un-walkable shoes and suffered up and down the green.  Some dressed festively in argyle and golf shoes.  

All in all, we had fun and chose not to distract the golfers by keeping our chatter to a whisper :)
