"And now", Max cried, "Let the wild rumpus start!"

The shoe project is finished! Here are the ones you have voted to toss!

Now, upon careful consideration, I have voted to toss a few pairs, based on EXTREME discomfort. I think you'd agree that sometimes, there's no gain in pain.

And two because I flat out JUST don't wear them. They shouldn't occupy space in my closet!

And only one pair am I tossing because they're worn out and need replacing. I'll be on the hunt as I re-enter the shoe purchasing world. (I STILL have not bought a pair!)

It has been an amazing journey. The end result of my closet, you ask? Drum roll please....
Do you see that? Emptiness on the top shelf? Is it time for a few new pairs? Honestly I've brought it down to roughly 33 work appropriate shoes. Amazing right? This closet did not look this amazing when I moved in. It was SALMON from ceiling to floor...my mom painted it white and my uncle hung extra shelves to fit my shoes :) I have bags and boots at the bottom. This has inspired me to purge throughout my condo...clothes, dishes, nick nacks...I want a fresh start in my condo, sans clutter, sans mystery boxes at the top of the closet.

Black in Half.

This is hard. It is! Black heels are a staple, but I have quite a few. I have the houndstooth variation of Day 2, Day 13's Cocktail shoes, the patent pumps from Day 21, The peeps of Day 50, the wedges of Day 39, the buckles of Day 43, and the infamous Audrey classics on Day 18. Did I miss any? The point is, it's a pair or two too many. Let's start the duel over the patent pumps and the peeps.
As aforementioned, due to the limitation of my blog, I cannot change the titles of the voting buttons without changing all the days. Vote "Keep" in favor of the left shoe and "Toss" in favor of the right!

The left are Day 21's patent pumps. They pinch just a touch, but probably could be stretched at the cobbler if voted to stay.

The right are Day 43's fierce buckles. These are stylish, but I have discovered that style in this case does not come without severe discomfort. I suffered a war wound in the top of my foot from these shoes and there is STILL a mark...is it worth the sacrifice?
Without further adeau, the shoes...

"Keep" for lefties, "Toss" for righties.

Animal Instincts

My instincts tell me to only keep one pair of these...They are quite different in style, but I do not frequent either pair enough to stow them both. Don't you agree?

The left are Day 23's Go Tigers flats. Full of texture, comfort, and Italian class. I was pleasantly surprised by the response on these shoes, and found myself liking them more and more as the day went on.

The right are Day 15's Wild Thang pumps. These Tahari's brought in a positive response, though they do not seem to get on my feet more than twice a season...maybe I haven't quite broken them in? Maybe I need a spicy heel to stay? You decide!

And now for the shoes...

"Keep" for the left and "Toss" for the right. It's a jungle in my closet...not for long!!

Busted for Beige!

Unbeknownst to me, I have an attraction to beige/black/brown combination shoes...
My coworker Robin has teased me relentlessly about it and I think we should try to narrow these puppies down...I received some comments about two pairs in particular, that had viewers known of the second pair, they would have voted less friendly towards the first, etc. I am dueling these babies against each other now.

You know the drill, vote "Keep" in favor of keeping the left and "Toss" in favor of keeping the right.
The left are Day 11's Jackie O post. Low wedge, peep toe, these are completely comfortable.

The right are Day 12's Need for Tweed post. Tan leather, chocolate stitching, comfortable heel! I must confess I cannot decide which pair I prefer, so I'll let you!
And now for the shoes...

Vote "Keep" for the left pair and "Toss" for the right. My closet thanks you!!!

Spectacular Spectators.

I am a fan of the 40s style, so I gravitate to Spectator shoes. I believe I could eliminate one of these. You decide! Vote "Keep" to keep the pair on the left, and "Toss" to keep the pair on the right. The limitations of the site do not allow me to revise my voting button names for select posts without altering the rest!

The left pair are from Day 30's Madden Madness. When worn during the challenge, they were easy to match to my wardrobe, and quite comfortable due to the around-the-ankle strap.

The right pair are from Day 29's Untitled post. When worn during the challenge, they were challenging to match with my wardrobe, no doubt due to the cranberry tone, but were quite comfortable as well!
And now to show the shoes:

"Keep" for left and "Toss" for right!! The survival of my closet is up to you...

Alas! A casualty.

Alas, there had to be one. It was bound to happen, really. With shoes in that quantity, why am I not surprised? There is one pair that has taken quite a beating and will be dismissed as a casualty of the challenge.

This was quite a memorable pair, actually. My first pair of pointy toe shoes. I remember the street corner in Rome where I purchased them during my semester abroad in Austria. I bought the same pair in a caramel/brown color for Corina at the same time. They are blue suede shoes, small, quaint kitten heel, and maximum comfort. I had them re-heeled several times too!!
I think that these deserve a peaceful ending. Sigh. I say goodbye to them and donate them with the other tosses.
