Green with Envy...

Day 24. I was thoroughly deflated when I arrived at work and realized I had forgotten to don my green on St. Patty's day! What kind of green do I have waiting for such occasions in my closet? Of course! SHOES. One co-worker said "Go home and change!!!" Riiiight...Someone even remarked "You're wearing a lot of black today, very unlike you." Thought I'd dress more fresh today. My co-workers persuaded me to wear the green shoes :)

I bought these at Nine West around this same time last year on super sale. Peep toe, Shamrock green suede, 3.5 inch heel, and pretty comfortable at that! Worn with Navy and white Lilly "pony dress". Opted to wear them on a Friday because I work less today, and with navy and white to tone down the green.

Go Tigers!!

Day 23...So LSU Tigers didn't make it far in my bracket selections, but these felines made it into my closet long ago.
A little tribute to Mike the Tiger, for all the LSU fans.
I bought these shoes in Rome with my sister a few years ago. I hadn't worn them much until recently when I got a few compliments from my coworkers when wearing them. They are comfortable and match anything. Worn with grey cropped JCrew slacks, turquoise Banana Republic top, black Club Monaco layering tee. Today is a long day, I'm going for comfort.

Big bows...reminds me of childhood

Day 22...I have to say, when I donned these shoes today, I was taken back to my childhood. Did you ever wear those HUGE bow headbands? The bow literally took over one side of your face. See if these are reminiscent for you as well:

I bought these in New Orleans with my friend Corina last year. We were intrigued by the bows! I had to wear flats today because one of my feet was hurting! These are obviously comfortable and coordinate with my dress from H&M and cardigan from Zara.

Here's what I mean by bow headbands:

I am pretty sure I wore these nearly every day when I was a kid. So now I embellish shoes with them! Things haven't changed much...

Taking it back to 1818...history of patent leather.

Day 21...I've got my favorite black trousers on so I'm ready to conquer the world. OK maybe not, but I'm at least ready to start the day.

Today's shoes are Vaneli and I bought them in Italy a few years ago for a steal. Black patent leather, lower heel, buckle across the toe. Since my creative genes are not flowing this morning, I decided to do a little research. From Wikipedia, "Sporting a high-gloss finish, patent leather has long been established as leather that is considered uptown and formal." New Jersey native Seth Boyden invented patent leather in 1818. Virtually waterproof, yet still flexible, and most often in a shiny black, patent leather is sophisticated and a slight diversion from your everyday black.

No venom in these shoes.

Day 20...Flats were an easy choice this morning! As I rolled out of bed, I knew heels were a no go and chose these...
I bought these at DSW around Christmastime because I was in need of work flats. Yes, I have other flats, but these are the only snakeskin ones! They are uber comfortable, were uber cheap, and are easy to match with outfits. Worn with JCrew skirt, Anthropologie tank, Zara Cardi, and some accessories.

Mellow Yellow

Day 19...More weekend shoes....I went to a concert on Saturday night and my cousin snapped this in the line on the way in.
I took another picture in the light to give you the full effect.
I bought these at Old Navy over a year ago as a cheap summer wedge, and my cousin bought them in red. I wear them constantly because they are so comfy and bright for summer.

Just thought I should post some "weekend shoes" once again, so you can see that I'm giving them a fair chance as well.

Happy Sunday!
