Wish List.

I have a bit of a wish list going, once I saw that JCrew had new arrivals.. I can't help it really. It all looks so appealing...is it because I can't shop? Is it because the sun is shining and the temperatures are rising? Could be a little of both.

Regardless, here is what I would put in my imaginary cart, if the sky was the limit. Sigh.

1. Stripe sunburst tank-love the wonkiness of those stripes! And of course any stripes in general.
2. What a cute laid back cardi, Sabrina!
3. Crochet is not just for grandmas. This is totes hot.
4. Remember how I said I wanted to get in on the motorcycle trend? Hel-lo what better way to do it than with an exposed zipper!!!!
5. I do love a good gingham.
6. I'm intrigued by these shorts...too poofy? Or just plain cute!
7. And the lace/eyelet trend. Don't even get me started on these babies.
8. Now this is a sour lemon I could sink my teeth into.
9. You know I'm going to say it. Don't you totes love this tote!?

10. And I love all things bracelets and jewelry right now. This is the frosting on the cake.
While we're at it, world peace and an end to these insane natural disasters wouldn't be bad items to add to the wish list as well.

All Star.

How cute are these new Converse styles? Made with Marimekko prints, sold online!

I'm a big fan of prints and patterns in my clothes, and of comfortable shoes. May have to snag a pair!

Put this on the list...

Of things from Anthropologie I can never afford, but will always drool over.

Seriously!??

Wore Through.

I looked all the way back to my second ever post (first with pictures-including the several pictures of the shoe contents in my closet pre-shoe off***) where I wore the ever popular Steve Madden Intyce boots.

Sad news? I've worn through them. Had to give them up. They've lasted 3+ years and 2 trips to the cobbler, but now it's time to say goodbye.

Something I usually don't do is buy something twice..but I made an exception here, sort of. I bought the same boots, but in wine red! Check them out..cute, right?

sorry for the poor photos...had to take them in my cubicle this morning :)

**The shoe off is what started this whole sha-bang of the Daily Anntidote. In an effort to clean out my closet of shoes, I wore a different pair daily and subjected them to a vote by the readers of this blog. It started out as a couple votes a day (thank you sisters and cousins) but spread to anywhere between 50-80 voters a day! Voters chose "keep" or "toss" and I stuck to what they said, eliminating nearly 1/3 of my collection to consignment or charity. I decided to keep blogging once the 60+ day challenge was over (that means I had 60+ pairs of shoes!!!!!).

Shoe in.

Madewell Spring line-I die. Fantastic shoes, and I have my eye on three pairs. I'll have to either a) narrow it down to one (not likely) or b) convince my roommate to get a different one than me so we can share.

This inspires me to create some funky Spring looks (especially when the temps dropped yet again and we're stuck in Winter longer).

1) The Oxford slingback, black and cream tunic, and simple khaki shorts.

2) The nubuck seaside sandal, hippy colorful top, and flirty navy lace shorts.

3) the sidewalk wedge, the sweater of many colors, and how about some basic leggings?

What do you think? I'm ready for Spring..how about you?

Cindy's Shoes

So my cousin Cynthia is getting married this weekend as you know...

We ran into a bit of a problem (but not one we couldn't solve!!!) when we ordered these shoes with the intent on dying them gold to go with the wedding...

And the cobbler said that dying wasn't possible!!! Alicia and mom and I sat around trying to figure out what to do. There was this piece of gold raw silk sitting next to the shoe and I started to weave it under the loop at the top of the shoe...we all gasped...with lots of tedious stitching and tacking, (and a lot of help and direction from my amazing mom), this is what I came up with for the wedding shoes:

(photo cred: cousin Julie)
I suppose I just expanded the Artisann line into wedding shoes!!!

Anthro

Wouldn't it be great if you could write up an Anthro wish list (one a month? one per catalog? one any old time you feel like it?) and some little fairy would purchase those things for you...without tampering with your credit card? Someone please figure out a way to make that happen.

Alicia and I got the catalog in the mail yesterday. Some very bold prints and patterns...and some very classic staples. In particular, I held open the page with the booties at the bottom with a lemon so Al would be sure to see it.

How practical are these pants!? So cute!

I love the patterns and lines on this cardigan.
What is up with these booties!? They are cute..daring..intriguing...don't you think?

Alright..back to reality. Sigh...

Update on Studs.

After searching for a while...this is all I've found so far as a substitute for the budget buster studded Valentino's...

Anyone else have any budget finds??

Boots.

Cue Rachel from Friends: "These are my 'I don't need a job, I've got great boots!' boots".

(See Who What Wear blast here)
So it's obvious I love boots. Right? I've been underwhelmed by boots in the shops (I know it's still early in the season). But seriously? A few years ago I bought these Steve Madden staples in JULY because I loved them so much. And I blogged about them day two of my blogging here.
Now WWW has come out with a blast that may make me change my mind on this season's selection. The Alician..the Karena...the Fivvy...the Briva...how will I chose? What boots are you on the market for this season? I'm looking for a wedged boot...which is why the Alician may win out of all of these! Plus I really do like the word taupe. So taupey don't you think?

Choo Choo

Jimmy Choo...don't mind if I do!
I poured through the recent Paper City and was really in love with this ad...she looks fierce and feminine at the same time.
Hopped on over to the website and there she is again-soft elegance with her lacy chemise on and edgy with her animal print bag.
Perhaps I should take a chance on Choo...anyone care to donate to the cause?

Early Fall shoes to rooms/life

With Fall just around the corner, who isn't ready for those darker colors? In Texas, however, I have to keep in mind the warm weather lasts even though the styles change.

Here are my three favorite "Texas Fall" shoes, and my three favorite upcoming Fall colors...

(1) Shadow blue~shoes by JCrew (and seen previously in black in their adorable short film with that adorable model) and the same tone casting a shadow over the house in Nola..

(2) Mustard yellow~ don't even get me started on my obsession with this color and these shoes. Shoes by Anthropologie. Love the color peeking out in the room and furniture too..

(3) Neutral neutral neutral~shoes by Madewell (my roommate just bought them and I may or may not be wearing them today). Love the simplicity of this color and the clean feel in daily life.

Tigers Tuesday

I figure in lieu of the news article I read this morning, I'd set this post to the theme of the jungle cats. Not only am I skeptical of animal prints, but I'm skeptical about the point of this article that was posted about a "possibility of tigers".

If Ralph Lauren says it's ok, then I say it's ok. Personally, a bit too much for me, but very interesting nonetheless. This is the home of LA decorator Mary McDonald
Subtle prints
Subtle nods in fashion..

And some fabulous CL's in printed leather.
